Child Safety & Security in the Nursery

At Kid's Island Nursery, safety and security are never compromised. Strict safety policies and procedures govern all areas of nursery life; from authorised collection of children, diligent maintenance of fixtures and equipment, regular emergency drills to general safety around the nursery.

  • Main entrances are equipped with security measures and safety gates.
  • Persons entering the nursery will be received through an intercom system and met at the gate by a member of staff.
  • The maintenance and efficacy of our fire extinguishers is monitored by an appointed government recognized agency.
  • As part of our annual training, our staff go through a paediatric first aid course recognized by the Government of Dubai.
  • We have a licensed nurse on duty at all times and a fully equipped Nurse’s clinic approved by the Dubai Department of Health.
  • We observe a strict nut-free policy and will also support any other allergy, intolerance or cultural practice when it comes to food products consumed within the nursery.

In the event that a parent or care giver has not collected their child from the school at pick up time, and no prior contact has been made with the Nursery to inform them of alternative arrangements, the nursery will make every attempt to contact parents. We provide an ‘Afternoon Fun Club’ option, supervised by our wonderful teachers, which gives our families flexibility for pick-up and peace of mind.

Nursery Nutrition - Interactive Snack Box

We believe that a healthy diet is of the highest value and importance for any child or adult. We advocate for and reinforce healthy eating habits within our nursery. Children are encouraged to drink water regularly throughout the day in order to remain hydrated and further facilitate a healthy lifestyle.

As a unique service to our parents all of our children receive a practical and transparent snack bag, in fact, this is our only uniform! As part of their snack time routine, the children are encouraged to identify, unpack and repack, as well as put away their own snack bag.

Snack time is a group activity that involves children, teachers and assistants seated together in their home-base and is a wonderful opportunity for children to learn by example.
